Hanaya presents: A Dozen Red Long-Stemmed Roses

Today I woke up and after getting dressed I heard a ring at the door.

It was the girl from the flower shop and she had a package for me!
I was so curious, and it turned out to be from my friend Moriko. It was a box with a big heart on it, very pretty!

So I went to open it...
OMG I got 12 beautiful long stemmed roses!

Melusina Parkin presents "Symmetries. A world of regular shapes" art exhibit

Melusina Parkin presents
Symmetries. A world of regular shapes

I'm glad to invite you to the opening of my new photo exhibit "Simetrías. Un mundo de formas regulares"  (Symmetries. A world of regular shapes), at LezSpain Art Gallery, Sunday February 5th, 12.30 pm SLT.
37 photos to explore SL world's geometric and symmetric shape and the feelings it can suggest.
After the opening a party will be offered by the Gallery owners*

CLUB LEZSPAIN, GALERIA DE ARTE

  • Since the gallery's SIM is an "only girls place", male avatars can come to the exhibit and can take part in the party only on the opening day.

About the exhibit's theme

"Geometry is not true, it is advantageous".
Henri Poincaré

“Symmetry is what we see at a glance"
Blaise Pascal

Second Life is a more geometric world than the real one. Its basic elements, with their hard edges and straight lines give to it an harder shape, copies and repetitions of elements increase its regularity. But geometric shapes are also an eye's and brain's construction, seeking order and serenity.
Geometries and symmetries, however, can also have an opposite meaning and can inspire sadness and solitude. We need order and regularity, but we need also the imperfection of the nature.

52 Weeks of Color 2012 - Alice Blue - Week 6

Well,
all I can see in Luna's swatch this week is a big white square.
According to my research, Alice Blue is a bit more like the candle boxes you see here. It turns out (or at least they say) the following:

The classic Alice Blue container candle comes in the natural color of soy wax -- white. Since our candles are white, we decided to name them after a color. Alice Blue is a pale shade of blue and was named after Theodore Roosevelt's daughter, Alice Roosevelt-Longworth.

In any event, I thought of it as a really pale sky blue. What in Italy we call Carta da Zucchero - sugar paper. When sugar was sold by weight, it used to be wrapped in this paper. Of course there are different shades of this as well, but seems to match to me:

So like it or not, this is what I based my concept on.

What came next is me reading about last week's Patina hue. One girl mentioned Donna Flora - and that's when I knew I had it - my HELENA dress.

I'd been looking for an occasion to wear SadBab's new Cameo jewels and this was perfect - the style and color matched.

I wanted to take a pic and not lose time with it while I was still inspired. I added a couple other things from my boudoir - namely, a hat table with a lamp on it in the right shade from LISP, and .... the bubbles in my bathtub LOL!

Hope you like!
Kisses, Lau♥

    Home Decor: Scandinavian Designs

Today I'm here to talk to you about Scandinavian Designs. A friend and colleague of mine, Wipster Baxter, is producing this line of home accessories. I have already shown some of her things from the Peace on Earth hunt.

Today, I bring to you a dining room set and accessories.

The dining room, chairs and sofa are from the AARRE set and are mesh! The table comes in Wood, Light Wood, and Dark Wood. I choose to show you wood because it matches my chairs.

    Wippy reminds us:

    • Don't forget to stop by for the Sixty Linden Weekend dining tables that match the chair from last time!

AARRE "Wood" Dining Room - MESH

    52 Weeks of Color - Patina - Week 5

I like totally didn't know where I was going with this one. Nor where I would end up.
I kept thinking, this is an easy color, I've seen it and own it and I like it.
From which stores and what it was called is totally another story.

Blog-hopping I found a blog that gave me some ideas - and finally I ended up at The Whore Mansion. But after checking and rechecking the swatch (and several 100 L$ less), the color wasn't quite right. It was too blue - turquoise and not enough green.
So I went home and started digging through inventory. I came up with this cute pair of socks from *elymode* which I'm wearing but you can't see. But then I hopped over to her store to check.
I bought some cutesies and took a hint from her vendor poster for the hair - this is Truth Hawk's colormint shade.
OK so I went home and played and gott dressed and had my outfit ready more or less. I kept a bra from The Whore Mansion and some panties I found in my inventory and decided to use purple for my secondary color. The shoes are freebies from TDR but the closes was this pinky/fuchsia color oh well.

    OK NOW WHAT??
There is that minor detail about, you need to take a picture...... LOL
I'm sitting at home and playing with my cats and I look at the wall and there's an Art Deco painting, a gift for my birthday from my friend Melu.
    The color is just right.......

Armed with just the painting I went up to the studio. This is what came out, hope you like. No Photoshops were hurt during the making of these piccies (except for the text)
    ♥ Kisses!

    Stars*Fashion meets Tameless Hair!

Today I will show you three new outfits from Stars*Fashion (Atlante Guerrero).

I have paired them up with new hair from Tameless Hair by Nita Bracken. All the hair came in a multitude of colors; I chose a specific one to go with each dress. They are two releases for January from Nita.

Two of the three outfits came with boots too; the first one here I paired up with my Bax Coen "Prestige" boots in red.

The first outfit is called Lovingly, and very appropriately named too! A mix of cute and sexy, t's perfect for the coming Valentine's day. I wore Chrissie which is a cute updo, with bangs on the front, braided in back, and curled at the ends to make it move with every wisp of the wind. I added a shy pair of glasses to get the look I wanted and an Earthstones necklace as well as a choker to emphasize the strapless minidress. I love the way it emphasizes my every curve while still keeping it cute with the big bow in front.

Next comes Innocently, matched up with Dori hair which is a black straight short style, with a hairpin holding it back in front, which seemed perfect for this. The boots as said are included with the outfit. I love the tartan pattern on the minidress, reminiscent of high school days long gone. Again we have a belt tied in a bow in front for that added cuteness :P

Lastly, Luminosity, another minidress, this time in a shade of blue and tight fitting, with a short jacket again and matching boots, very urban casual. The hair is Sugar, and can be worn with or without the braids, depending on the look you want to give your outfit.

About her hair Nita sends a notecard:

Thank you for purchasing Tameless hair.
Our styles have a mix of sculpted prims, flexi prims and non-flexi prims to create a natural look.
The permissions are both copy and modify.  However, due to the scripts in our hair it will show no modify in your inventory.  When you wear or rez the hair, right click and then click edit it will show modify permissions.  If you wish to modify the hair we recomend that you make a copy in your inventory first so that you will always have an orignal to go back to.  Each hairstyle has a resizer script to make it easy to resize your hair.
If you wish to turn off the scripts in a viewer 1.X simply right click on the hair and click Edit.  Go to Tools?Set Scripts To Not Running.  To turn them back on do the same only click Set Scripts to running instead.
For V2 and V3 edit the hair and click Build>Scripts, then click Set To Running or Set To Not Running.
For questions or support, please IM or send a note card to Nita Bracken.

Press Release the future is Elegancia Passion

Often a New Year brings about diverse changes. Many of them, like New Year’s resolutions, though painful at first bring about so many new positives to our lives, that we often forget any trials we had to overcome early on. After much planning and consideration, Passion and Elegancia agencies have decided to merge to become a single business entity. These past few months as we grew and worked closer together, we found that if we merged we would not be duplicating efforts, and the emerging agency would be a more streamlined and efficient, and as such could offer better, more unique services to our clients as well as to our models, dancers, bloggers and other members.

So, in 2012 we would like to introduce to you, EP Incorporated Holdings. Wanting to be more forward thinking, Elegancia and Passion agencies will no longer be an agency whose main focus is runway and print modeling. We are now a business with branches reaching to many different areas of our second virtual world. As the parent company, EP Inc will oversee the daily workings of Elegancia-Passion Model Agency, EP Performing Arts and Dance, EP Academy for new model training, EP Bloggers for our Fashion of the Day Internet Feed, and we would like to introduce, Trend, the newest member of our family, our digital magazine!

We know this is a big leap to the future and as such we are thankful, as always, for the dedication of our staff, models, bloggers and dancers, friends, but also to the continued faith of our many loyal designers.  So, with the birth of EP Inc. this New Year, we gladly give a toast of thanks to all of you and look forward to working with you to bring our company to the fore-front as one of the leaders in Virtual entertainment and Fashion.

    52 Weeks of Color 2012 - Iron - Week 4

The Iron in the swatch looked real pale, so I went for a more grey shade. Which didn't leave me with much I hadn't already used.
But then I found this dress. It seems I'm not the only one who found it, I was hoping not to follow the traditional store hints but there's always a chance.

I wanted some cool boots for it and TEN 10 had some but I wasn't sure if in grey; my friend had a pair and I asked to see them. It turns out the color s called BLUE but it works.

The rest I sort of threw together - and it looks that way I know :P A LoQ hair that matched and earring from Glow Studio.

Lastly I wanted more iron in the pic - and I got to thinking Steampunk. Before I started heading out for all the Steampunk sims like Caledon I dug through my inventory and everything I found is from *TMS*Twisted Metal Steamorks by Leona Upshaw.
